Holiday Parade of Boats

Set sail into the holiday season at this beloved Low country tradition. Watch as festive, lighted boats cruise from the Cooper River, through the Charleston Harbor, and into the Ashley River, capped off with a stunning fireworks display. The parade begins at 6 PM on the Mount Pleasant side of the Cooper River and concludes around 8 PM on the Ashley River. Enjoy prime viewing spots along the Charleston peninsula and Patriot’s Point.

CHARLESTON IS IN FULL BLOOM

Charleston is in full bloom in April and the festivals abound. The month kicks off with the Cooper River Bridge Run on April 6th. Join the thousands of runners who get to enjoy a 10-K and run across one of the most iconic bridges in the Southeast. Another sporting event drawing visitors in April is the Credit One Charleston Open taking place from April 1-7, 2024. Join one of the nearly 90,000 fans to watch the largest women's only professional tennis tournament in North America. If sporting events are not your thing, we have you covered. The Flowertown Festival also takes place this weekend from March 31-April 2nd. The festival features a selection of local restaurants and over 200 booths of artists and makers, as well as a farmers market and a kid's area with activities and rides. Enjoy some locally grown strawberries and other local produce at the Lowcountry Strawberry Festival from April 5-14, 2024. Speaking of homegrown-- April also kicks off the return of the renowned Charleston Farmer's Market in Marion Square open weekly on Saturdays and Sundays. Round out the month with the Blessing of the Fleet on April 28th. This is a longstanding tradition that pays tribute to the local shrimping and fishing industry that makes the Lowcountry so special. So from sports to land to sea, April is an ideal time to visit Charleston.

SPRING BREAK IN CHARLESTON

The weather is warming up in March and the days are getting longer - meaning more time to soak in the Carolina sunshine. The month starts out strong with Charleston Wine + Food Festival over March 7-10, 2024.This is the perfect time to take to the sea and really soak in the historic Charleston skyline. There is no better vantage point to see how many church steeples you can count in the Holy City. There are many paddleboarding, kayaking and charter options from which to choose. Hop on the water taxi and to visit the USS Yorktown and Fort Sumter, then take a stroll along Waterfront Park to Rainbow Row. The historic city of Charleston is known for its storied past and preservation. Enjoy some of the most celebrate relics of the past during the Charleston Spring Antiques Roadshow over March 22-24, 2024. Celebrate the adventures of the day at the Lobby Bar with one of The Palmetto's featured signature cocktails. The Zwissler's Spritz truly captures the essence of Spring!
